Yi Fu Tang is a Taichung bakery founded in 1928, with nearly 100 years of history. Its signature lemon cake was created in 1964. The lemon cake is a lemon-shaped sponge cake coated in lemon chocolate with a lemon jam filling, balanced between sweet and tart. It comes in boxes of 6 for NT$200 and 12 for NT$400 and is a popular souvenir.

Besides lemon cakes, Yi Fu Tang sells sun cakes, wife cakes, pineapple cakes, longxiang cakes, and cheese mochi cakes, made with fresh ingredients, flaky and sweet without being heavy. Sun cakes come in original and several other flavors, and there is also egg yolk pastry. Wife cakes are handmade the traditional way, with a thin, flaky crust and a rich filling, a classic Taiwanese pastry. Pineapple cakes are made with fresh pineapple jam in a buttery crust and make good gifts. Longxiang cakes have a low-sugar mung bean filling, a lighter option. The cheese mochi cakes are fragrant and flaky with a rich cheese filling, good with afternoon tea.
